Festivals are an awesome environment to network, share and grow. A number of festivals take place in Ghana and in neighboring countries that poets and poetry enthusiasts should be aware of. PAG has listed a number of these festivals for interested persons to familiarize themselves with and attend.

Pa Gya! A Literary Festival in Accra is a three-day literary arts festival featuring activities such as readings, panel discussions, performances, book launches, and sales, literary prize awards, and many more. The festival engages all literary forms such as fiction, poetry, spoken word, comic and graphic novels, creative non-fiction such as travel writing, and literary blogging. Over the years, the festival has grown to include art talks, art, and literary exhibitions, film screenings, and many more. The festival also offers booksellers, publishers, and independent authors to showcase and sell their books.

The Lagos International Poetry Festival returns this year with an ambitious theme, line-up of guests, and programme. Set to hold from October 27th – October 31st LIPFest 2022 centers the mother-tongue and the ongoing reclamation of default languages from the rubble of colonialism. It draws an array of guest poets, writers, translators, and performers, as they translate their experiences by taking us beneath the skin of their tongues.
